Temperatures begin to rise, but there is still a risk of frost.
The vines wake up and the buds swell, open up, and reveal tender green shoots.

In the vineyard, it's time to:
  • Tie up
The longest cane (the fruit cane) is attached to the lower guide wire, which supports it throughout the growing season.
  • Replace vine stakes
Broken wooden stakes and guide wires are replaced.
  • Replant
Dead vines are grubbed up and replaced with new ones.
In the cellar, it's time to:
  • Continue preparing orders of recently-bottled vintages for shipment
  • Top up barrels
